1. Paver Installation Planning

We will discuss your specific paver installation needs, along with how to manage existing contours of the land. We can discuss plans for paver stones, a paver patio, brick pavers, or any cutting that may be required. During this time, we can address and discuss other issues that need repair, such as:

Once this initial consultation is complete, the job is ready for preparation.

2. Paver Preparation

We will thoroughly prepare the area to be paved. We will excavate the top layer of the land and smooth any unstable areas. This will allow for a proper paver base material to be installed.

3. Installation Process

Paver base materials will be laid with proper restraints to prevent the pavers from separating or spreading. A layer of paver sand will then be placed to fill in any holes and ensure a smooth finished product. Paver stone or brick would also be installed to your specifications.

How much base is needed for pavers?

Determining the amount of base you will need for your pavers is crucial. Without the right foundation, you are setting yourself up for paver failure. The most commonly accepted ratio is 4-inch base of 3/4 inch quarry process or RCA beneath a 1-inch layer of concrete sand.

When you are trying to calculate just the amount of material you will need, you first need to understand how each material is measured. Crushed stone, the recommended material for paver base is measured in cubic yards.

Now do the following:

Measure the square footage of the area you will be installing the pavers. (W x L)
For crushed stone: multiply your square footage by .01235.
For sand: Use the square footage measurement that you received from the stone and multiply by .00309.

  Blooms was the best decision for landscaping. We needed total re-do of our front yard. We had bad erosion and a large magnolia tree in our front yard with tons of roots we didn’t know what to do with. We also didn’t have sprinklers. We contracted them to landscape the front, build a sidewalk for us, and install an irrigation system. Our house is on a hill with lots of mature trees that are important to me and I previously hesitated on doing landscaping bc I was worried it would damage the tree roots. On our initially meeting with Dale he recognized our trees were awesome and designed a plan around them and to protect them. He designed a natural stone walkway that looked good with our house’s stone but also minimized the amount of digging they’d have to do around the roots. He also designed a ground cover plan and landscaping that would do well in shade.

Then came the WEEK they did the work. Our yard was a mess and this crew shows up EVERY DAY at 7:30 and worked till 6 with a minimal lunch break. They worked their butts off every day- digging everything by hand, no large machinery, to make sure they didn’t damage my trees. Cleared off all of the trash and the large broken pots that were left in our yard by the previous owner. Installed a killer irrigation system, installed an amazing natural stone walkway, built a retaining wall to contain our magnolia on our hill, and made our yard look beautiful.
